Beginner Japanese

Our standard six-month online class-based Japanese language course designed for absolute beginners and beginners. This course is designed to help students develop a foundational understanding of Japanese. Students will learn how to write Japanese using hiragana and katakana, as well as learning how to express themselves using basic sentences.
Classes are 70 minutes long, once a week. Content is in English & Japanese. View our updated course curriculum here.
In our courses, you'll learn alongside and connect with other students. Enrolling also gives you the opportunity to join our community Discord server. A stable internet connection and a device capable of running Microsoft Teams is required.

If you can't attend a course, we record classes so you can catch up when you're free. For tutoring sessions, let us know and we'll work to support you.
Student Curriculum
We use textbooks commonly used in university classrooms to guide our instruction. You do not need to purchase classroom materials beforehand.
